Traverse City Children's Book Festival

The Traverse City Children's Book Festival is an annual event that brings children's book authors, publishers, illustrators, and children together in the heart of downtown Traverse City. Hosted by publishing services company Jenkins Group, the event promotes literacy by celebrating books and learning with a jam-packed day of free activities, crafts, performances, and contests for children of every age. 

The festival also showcases winning books from the Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards, featuring them throughout the festival and at a medal ceremony that evening at the Park Place Hotel. Exhibitors come from as far as California, Colorado, Montana, and even Dominican Republic to share their love of reading and their incredible books with attendees. “The Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards and the Children’s Book Festival seek to encourage the enriching role books play in children’s lives,” says Jerry Jenkins, founder of Jenkins Group. “Embracing literature is fun, but also essential in school and into adulthood.”
